From today till mid May, I will show everyone the best 10 looks from my winter to spring transitional mini capsule wardrobe with reviews. Below are the first 2 outfits with a convertible wool coat from The RealReal.
Outfit 1 & 2 with ZAC Zac Posen Convertible Wool Coat
Top – Zara, size S, old
Bag – One Idea (Shanghai), one size, convertible wooden ring vegan leather crossbody, similar style from Nordstrom
The Sam Edelman “Petty” Boots are comfortable with a 1.75 inch heel height. Though I’m only 5 ft tall, I don’t usually wear heels over 3 inches, because while my eyes love them my feet don’t.
The convertible wool coat from ZAC Zac Posen has a detachable bottom, removable hood and faux fur. The fabric is midweight and perfect to resist the early spring chilly air.
It is not heavy in my opinion (I don’t care much for heavy coats), though being a wool coat after all, it is heavier than my featherlight down coat. I got size 2 and it fits me well. Since it’s regular size, I expected it to fit longer on me than on the mannequin. The full length of the coat is above my knees and I rolled the sleeves 2-3 inches up.
If you are to invest in a wool coat but can’t decide long or short, hooded or not hooded, with fur/faux fur around the hood or not…. then this coat is everything in one!Get The Coat
Also if you have not shopped at The RealReal, you are missing out! Luxury and designer brands clothing and accessories are to be found there and they always have new stuff coming in. You may just get addicted.
Pants – Levi’s belted denim culottes, size 25
Boots – Michael Kors Collection (thrifted from ShoeMetro[closed]), size 5.5
With a mini capsule wardrobe, I’m pushed to find creative ways to pair items I’d otherwise not think of. Just like in outfit 2, I tucked a loose mini dress inside a pair of wide-leg pants. The dress is probably designed to be a 3/4 sleeves tunic but fits like a long sleeves mini dress on me. I didn’t think this combination would look good and feel comfortable, but was glad to find a new way to try the dress+pants look.
Unzipping the bottom half, the wool coat becomes a jacket!
I love multi-way items, either a coat like above, or a handbag that can transform into different shapes (hanaa-fu, anyone?). Versatility means you can get more use out of it, from outfit to outfit and season to season.
